CrossFit is a way to get fit, fast. Do you want to be stronger, faster? Want to look good naked? It is the way to go.
CrossFit is constantly varied, high intensity functional movements. Any exercise program that meets these three criteria can be considered “CrossFit,” from shoveling dirt, hauling rocks and cutting down trees to weightlifting, pull ups and sprinting. CrossFit is not specialized. It is by design broad, general and inclusive. The workouts elicit a maximal neuro-endocrine response from your body by taxing it to its core with variety, intensity, and multiple joint, full body, functional movements. The CrossFit approach is consistent with what is practiced in elite training programs, major university athletic teams and professional sports.
Who is CrossFit for?
CrossFit is for all people, all fitness levels, all ages, all ways of life. CrossFit is unique because it addresses the fact that the fitness needs of a top athlete are the same to someone like you and me – the only difference being intensity (speed & weight) and volume.
What is the CrossFit difference?
If you have been working out in a gym or health club your typical workout would probably consist of an aerobic session and isolation movements. The fitness world has you believing that those sit ups and curls and leg extensions partnered with a 20 minute run are going to lead to some kind of great fitness. At CrossFit we work exclusively shorter high intensity cardio sessions along with compound or functional movements. Why? Because those two combined are radically more effective at bringing about nearly any desired fitness result. And it isn’t just a matter of opinion, but rather solid scientific fact.
